Flying WV Snowflake

The flying WV logo snowflake is the creation of Sue Crist, manager, University Relations – Design, and was first used for WVU President David C. Hardesty’s 1997 holiday card.

What started as Crist’s rough sketch on a napkin has been transformed into not only holiday cards, but also ornaments, pins, scarf rings, and a chocolate mold. The design has appeared on campus banners, sweatshirts, and the cover of the Winter 1998 Alumni Magazine.
